♦ World Rivers Day has been celebrated on the “Fourth Sunday of September” since 2005 to raise global awareness of the necessity to support, protect and preserve the rivers worldwide. 
♦ The theme for World Rivers Day 2021 is “Waterways in our communities”, with selected importance on the necessity to conserve and repair urban waterways.
♦ Mark Angelo, a well-known river ecologist, addressed the United Nations in 2005 during its Water for all times drive, a decade-long effort to raise awareness about unprotected water supplies throughout the planet. Angelo suggested an annual World Rivers Day to assist the cause gain traction.
♦ World Rivers Day may be a Great occasion for millions of people worldwide to come together and celebrate the importance of healthy, thriving waterways.
