24 November 2021 Current Affairs:The BSE and NSE stock exchanges kicked off the celebrations of “World Investor Week 2021,” a worldwide recognised event. Several educational activities will be held as part of the event.

Highlights:
♦ World Investor Week (WIW) is being held by Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL) from November 21 to November 28, 2021, under the auspices of SEBI and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
♦ WIW is a week-long international festival organised by the IOSCO. It is celebrated all throughout India to promote awareness about the significance of investor education and protection.
♦ Market infrastructure institutions (MIIs) including stock exchanges, clearing organisations, and depositories will hold instructional events throughout the week-long celebrations.
♦ The National Stock Exchange (NSE) participated in ‘Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy’ to raise awareness about the need for investor education and protection.
♦ Several securities regulator actions in these two crucial areas are also highlighted over the event.
♦ As part of this endeavour, the NSE sounded the closing bell to signal the start of WIW 2021.
♦ NSE will host almost 600 events this week, including both physical and digital platforms.
♦ Focused awareness workshops, as well as trading members for new investors in securities markets in the previous two years, will be held during the event.
♦ For investor education, the event will also be broadcast on the NSE’s digital platform.

Events:
♦ Launch of a market simulation package
♦ Simulation module created for teaching students or investors
♦ Mechanics of trading, settlement, margining, and a certificate programme based on the capital market for college students.
