Ram Nath Kovind confers honorary rank of ‘General of Indian Army’ on Nepal Army Chief Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma
President Ram Nath Kovind has conferred Nepal Army Chief Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma with the honorary rank of ‘General of the Indian Army’.
Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma is on a four-day visit to India to explore ways to expand bilateral defence cooperation. The leaders of India and Nepal have often noted the age-old “Roti Beti” relationship.
Nepal had conferred the honorary rank of ‘General of Nepal Army’ to Indian Army Chief Gen MM Naravane in November 2020.
Indian Navy Commissions fourth Scorpene-class submarine INS Vela
The Indian Navy received the fourth Scorpene class submarine under Project 75 on November 09, 2021, after completing all trails at the sea.
The vessel has been commissioned in the Navy as INS Vela.
Under Project75 six submarines of Scorpene design are being constructed atMazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, in collaboration with M/s Naval Group, France.
The first three submarines Under Project-75 which are functional are INS Karanj, INS Kalvari, and INS Khanderi.
Currently the Indian Navy has 12 submarines. Apart from this, there are two nuclear submarines INS Arihant and INS Chakra.

RBI launches Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021 by integrating its old Ombudsman Schemes
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on November 12, 2021 launched theIntegrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021of the Reserve Bank of India. Ombudsman Scheme of RBI, is a grievance redressal mechanism framed by RBI for customers of banking sectors.
The new scheme integrates the existing three Ombudsman schemesof RBI namely,
the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, 2006;
the Ombudsman Scheme for Non-Banking Financial Companies, 2018; and
the Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions, 2019.
The integration of the earlier three Ombudsman Scheme is a step towards ‘One Nation One Ombudsman’approach by making the RBI Ombudsman mechanism jurisdiction neutral.
Apart from this,Non-Scheduled Primary Co-operative Banks with a deposit size of Rs. 50 crore and above, have been brought into the ambit of Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021.
