15 September 2021 Current Affairs:On September 11, 1893, Swami Vivekananda delivered a famous speech at the “Parliament of World Religions”, winning a full two minutes of standing ovation and the nickname of ‘cyclonic monk of India’. This year marked the 128th anniversary of the Swami Vivekananda’s historical Chicago Address.

♦ He became famous in the western world after his well-known speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions.
♦ He was considered an important force in the revival of Hinduism in India and bringing it to the status of an important world religion in the late nineteenth century.
♦ His address in the World “Parliament of Religions” at Chicago in 1893 drew the world’s interest to the ancient Indian philosophy of Vedanta.
