SVAMITVA E-Property Cards Distributed

26 April 2021 Current Affairs:PM Narendra Modi launched the distribution of E-Property Cards underneath the Svamitva (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme. Around 4.09 lakh property cards have been distributed. The cards were allotted on the side-lines of National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations.

Highlights:
♦ Each and Every year, the National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated on April 24. It is celebrated on this day as the Panchayati Raj Act used to be enacted on this day.
♦ The Svamitva Scheme was once launched in 2020 on National Panchayati Raj day.
♦ The scheme pursuits to provide integrated property validation solution for rural India.
♦ Under the scheme, the mapping is to be accomplished in a phase-wise manner between 2020 and 2024.
♦ The scheme will map the land parcels the usage of drone technology. And, a Continuously Operating Reference Station will be used for demarcation.
♦ The scheme is presently applicable only in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
♦ The Indian government has allotted Rs 79.65 crores for the scheme.
