02 November 2021 Current Affairs:Elon Musk’s company On November 1, 2021, SpaceX established a wholly-owned company in India to begin local broadband operations.

Highlights
♦ Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite broadband subsidiary, plans to launch broadband services in India in December 2022.
♦ It has 2 lakh active terminals that are subject to Indian government approval.
♦ SSCPL stands for ‘Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited,’ and it is the name of the subsidiary.
♦ The business was founded on November 1, 2021. India has already placed over 5,000 pre-orders with Starlink.
♦ Starlink is charging a deposit of USD 99 (Rs 7,350) from each customer. It claims to deliver data speeds in the range of 50 to 150 megabits per second in the beta stage.

SpaceX
♦ SpaceX is an aerospace manufacturer, telecommunication company, and space transportation service provider based in the United States.
♦ The company is based in Hawthorne, California. Elon Musk created the corporation in 2002 with the goal of lowering space transportation costs in order to enable the colonization of Mars. 
♦ The Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles, as well as Dragon cargo and crew spacecraft, multiple rocket engines, and Starlink communications satellites, are all manufactured by SpaceX.

Starlink
♦ SpaceX operates the Starlink satellite broadband constellation. It connects the majority of the world to the Internet through satellite. There are now around 1600 satellites in orbit.
