Highlights:
♦ The SALT initiative intends to enhance the learning quality of over 50 lakh pupils in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
♦ The project was initiated with a five-year time constraint, beginning in 2021-22. SALT is one of the first creative programmes of its sort to train teachers, promote state-level evaluation, and develop an effective education administration and information system.
♦ It will contribute to the state’s goal of providing universal access to high-quality education. It will also assist Andhra Pradesh in realising its objective of converting government schools into thriving institutions focused on children’s core learning.
♦ It is a five-year result-oriented initiative for which the World Bank will release money after key objectives have been met.
♦ A one-year preschool-level course will be established in 3,500 tribal block schools as part of this programme.
♦ The government has turned all Anganwadis in the state into pre-primary schools and linked them to nearby schools as part of the program.
Aim:
♦ 40 lakh students aged between six to fourteen across 45,000 government schools
♦ 10 lakh children, aged between three to six, enrolled in Anganwadis,
♦ 1,90,000 teachers and More than 50,000 Anganwadi workers.
