09 September 2021 Current Affairs:As part of India’s presidency of the BRICS countries in 2021, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the 13th BRICS Summit in a virtual format
Highlights:
♦ ‘[email protected]: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’, is the theme of the summit.
♦ India had outlined 4 priority areas for its Chairship. These are:
♦ Reform of the Multilateral System
♦ Counter terrorism
♦ For accomplishing SDGs Digital and Technological tools are used
♦ Enhancing People to People exchanges
♦ India’s presidency of the BRICS this year coincides with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the BRICS, as reflected in this year’s theme.
