Nutrition Related Programme by Rajasthan Government
Highlights:
♦ The state government is going through the challenge of the micronutrient crisis. Following the disruption, professionals referred to undertaking strategies to accelerate micronutrient supplementation and support food fortification.
♦ Thus, the Rajasthan government has launched “Nutrition focused programmes” as the impending third wave is in all likelihood to aggravate this situation.
♦ Under the programme, Indira Rasoi Yojana will provide meals to the poor and needy twice a day. This scheme had prolonged alleviation to people amid the pandemic.
♦ The government is also promoting a healthful lifestyle for pregnant females and is extending aid to such ladies in order to enable them to provide delivery to healthy children.
♦ Village panchayats would play a giant position in strengthening nutrition schemes and offering nutrition training amongst students in schools.
♦ The nutrition-focused programmes are extensive because nutritious, diverse & secure meals in early childhood and entry to primary health, water & sanitation would help in enhancing dietary status among girls and children.
♦ Indira Rasoi Yojana: Indira Rasoi Yojana was launched in August 2020 with the goal of supplying nutritious meals to terrible & needy two instances in a day at concessional rates. Under the scheme, one plate serves 100 grams of pulses & greens and 250 grams of chapati & pickles. This scheme aligns with the theme of World Food Day 2020 to grow, nourish and maintain together.
