NFI 6th Edition Published

30 October 2021 Current Affairs:The sixth edition of the National Formulary Of India (NFI) was launched by Union Health Minister  Mansukh Mandaviya on 25 October.

♦ The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) published it to promote the sensible use of medications in India.
♦ NFI 2021 will serve as a guide for all healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, clinicians, dentists, nurses, and others.
♦ NFI will also have a substantial impact on clinical practice.
♦ It is published in India to promote the judicious use of drugs.
♦ Clinicians and healthcare workers will find the material useful when providing medications to patients.
♦ There were 34 therapeutic categories chapters in NFI 2021, as well as 591 drug monographs and 23 appendices.
♦ It follows the National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) and National Health Programs.
