Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared January 16 to be “National Startup Day.”

Highlights:

The 16th of January has been designated as ‘National Start-up Day’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
PM Modi made the announcement through a video conference on January 15, 2022, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’s week-long event “Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem.” During the occasion, the Prime Minister met with over 150 startups from various industries.
Growing from roots, nudging the DNA, from local to global, technology of the future, establishing champions in manufacturing, and sustainable development was among the six themes presented to the Prime Minister by the startups, which were divided into six groups.
“Don’t just keep your ideas local, make them global,” the Prime Minister told the young entrepreneurs, emphasizing that Indian startups can easily have made it to the world stage and reach other countries.
Keep this mantra in mind: “Let’s innovate for India, from India.”
