09 November 2021 Current Affairs:Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for a number of national highway and road projects and dedicated them to the people of India.

Highlights:
♦ In the temple town of Pandharpur in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone and dedicated different National Highway and Road projects to the country via video conference.
♦  These projects are targeted at enhancing connection in the region in order to make it easier and safer for devotees to travel.
♦ The PM laid the foundation stone for four lanes on Sreesanth Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg (NH-965) and four lanes on Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg (NH-965) (NH-965G).
♦ The Sreesanth Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg will be built in five phases at a cost of around Rs. 6690 crore, while the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg will be built in three phases at a cost of over Rs. 4400 crore.
♦ On either side of these National Highways, special pathways for ‘Palkhi’ will be built as part of the project.
♦ The PM also dedicated to the nation about 223 kilometres of completed and renovated road projects totaling over Rs. 1180 crore on various National Highways aimed at improving connectivity to Pandharpur.
