MoU Signed For National Clean Air Programme – NCAP

29 March 2021 Current Affairs:The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by representatives of the State Pollution Control Boards, Urban Local Institutions and Institute of Reputation (IoR), and involved 132 identified cities to implement the action plan for cities under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
Highlights:
♦ NCAP is a long-term, time-limited national strategy aimed at comprehensively addressing air pollution problems across India.
♦ Its goal is to reduce the concentration of particulate matter by 20% to 30% by 2024 (using 2017 as the base year).
♦ A national knowledge network composed of leading air quality experts has also been established as a technical advisory group to support activities under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and guide local IoR in air quality research.
