Mother Teresa Memorial Award is presented to Padma Bhusan Anil Prakash Joshi.
The Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice 2021 has been given to environmentalist Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan this year. The award went to Vidyut Mohan, the winner of the Earth Shot Prize, and Ridhima Pandey, a young environmental activist from Uttarakhand.
Each year, the Mother Teresa Memorial Awards are given out by the Harmony Foundation, which selects a theme and honors individuals and organizations who work to improve environmental sustainability.
Dr. Abraham Mathai, the foundation’s founder, and chairman congratulated the honorees.
Dr. Joshi was recognized for his work as a changemaker in the environmental sustainability sector, having impacted over 10,000 villages in the Himalayan region through his Himalayan Environmental Studies & Conservation Organization.
Through his social enterprise Takachar, Vidyut was recognized for his pioneering and ingenious efforts in combating air pollution.
Ridhima was honored for her extraordinary bravery and unwavering spirit as a young environmental activist who has sparked national action to combat climate change.
