Launch of YounTab Scheme in Ladakh
About the Scheme:
It is an initiative of the Department of School Education. It was launched with the technical assistance of the Information Technology Department. Under the scheme, 12,300 tabs with preloaded online and offline content like textbooks, video lectures and online category applications would be distributed among students from Class 6th to twelfth in government schools. The scheme has been launched as a try for long term technology infusion in the training system.
This Union Territory is administered through India and is a phase of the large Kashmir region, which is a dispute between India, Pakistan, and China because 1947. Ladakh was once set up as a separate UT on October 31, 2019, after Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act was passed. Tibet Autonomous Region borders it in the east, Himachal Pradesh in the south, Jammu & Kashmir in the west, and Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the north. It extends from Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram vary to Great Himalayas from north to south. Its eastern part, comprising uninhabited Aksai Chin plains, is under Chinese control in 1962. The largest city in Ladakh is Leh, accompanied by means of Kargil. Leh district includes Shyok, Indus and Nubra river valleys. While Kargil district consists of Dras, Suru and Zanskar river valleys. It is the 2nd least populated UT in India.
