02 November 2021 Current Affairs:The United Nations has designated November 2 as the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists.

Highlights
♦ The day highlights the poor conviction rate for violent crimes against journalists and media workers around the world, which is believed to be one in every ten instances.
♦ In General Assembly Resolution A/RES/68/163, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 2 as the “International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists.”
♦ The Resolution urged the Member States to take concrete steps to combat the current culture of impunity.
♦ The day was chosen to commemorate the 2 November 2013 assassination of two French journalists in Mali.
♦ UNESCO headquarters is in  Paris, France headed by  Audrey Azoulay.
♦ UNESCO Founded was founded on 16 November 1945.
