China Launches its First cross-border Belt and Road Initiative Train With Laos

China launched the first cross-border train of its multibillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) from Laos on 2 December 2021, claiming that it will help the small and only landlocked country in Southeast Asia become a land-linked hub, improve regional connectivity, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
