Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension for BPL

Under the scheme, the widow’s pension will be provided to widows belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) households.

Highlights:
Under the scheme, the widow’s pension will be provided to widows belonging to Below Poverty Line households. This is a sub-scheme of the National Social Assistance Program (NSAP) of the Ministry of Rural Development. According to the scheme, the central assistance @ Rs. 300/- per month is provided to widows in the 40-79 age group. When they reach 80, the pension amount will be increased to Rs 500/- per month.
