10 November 2021 Current Affairs:Around 96 countries have agreed to mutually recognise India’s Covid-19 vaccination certificate, according to Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Highlights:
♦ As a result of this recognition, people travelling from these countries will be eligible for certain benefits as outlined in the Union Health Ministry’s foreign arrivals rules.
♦ The government is also in contact with other nations to ensure that beneficiaries of the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination programme are accepted and recognised when travelling for educational, business, or tourism objectives.
♦ 109.08 crore vaccinations have been delivered in India thus far.
♦ The CoWIN platform provides access to the international travel vaccination certificate.

CoWIN Portal
♦ The abbreviation for Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network is Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network. In India, it is a COVID-19 vaccination registration web portal.
♦ It is owned and operated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
♦ The platform allows users to schedule their slot on the same day or a few days in advance.
♦ The Aarogya Setu and UMANG Apps have also been connected with this portal.
Covishield, Covaxin, and Sputnik V are the three vaccines that can currently be registered on the platform.
♦ On January 16, 2021, CoWIN began providing Covid-19 vaccines to frontline employees in India.
♦ Vaccination was made available to all citizens over the age of 60 starting in March 2021.
