06 October 2021 Current Affairs:The Heli- Borne Survey Technology is launched by Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh on 5 October.

Highlights:
♦ The Heli Borne Survey is launched for groundwater management in its first phase in Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana.
♦ The Survey started on 5 October in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
♦ The Heli borne survey was developed by CSIR-NGRI Hyderabad.
♦ This Technology is aimed to map the groundwater sources in arid regions and it will help to manage groundwater resources.
♦ Heli-borne geophysical mapping will provide high-resolution 3D images for sub-surface up to a depth of 500 meters below the ground level.
♦ The acute water shortage in the arid regions of India which is home to more than 8 crore people, will benefit from this Heli-Borne Survey.
