21 September 2021 Current Affairs:Researchers have developed a technology that can use construction and demolition waste and alkali-activated adhesives to produce energy-efficient wall materials.

Highlights:
♦ The researchers used an alkali activation technique using fly ash and powdered slag to create low-embodied carbon bricks from building and demolition debris.
♦ Known as Low-C bricks, they do not require high-temperature firing & avoid the use of high-energy materials like Portland cement.
♦ The technology will also solve the disposal issues related with construction and demolition waste mitigation.
