Vinay Kumar Tripathi, a 1983 batch Indian Railway Service officer, has been appointed as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board.
Highlights:
He is currently the General Manager of the Northeastern Railway and is the Chairman of the Railway Board.
The Indian Railway Board, which reports to the national assembly through the Ministry of Railways, is the apex body of the Indian Railways.
The Cabinet Appointments Committee not only approved Tripathi’s appointment for six months beginning January 1 but also granted him an extension until December 31, 2022.
Vinay Kumar Tripathi has completed advanced management training in Switzerland and the United States.
Tripathi was instrumental in the commissioning and indigenization of state-of-the-art three-phase locomotives, which are now India’s workhorses.
Tripathi has extensive experience in railway administration and management.
