20 November 2021 Current Affairs:According to Constitution and legal experts, the administration will have to introduce a bill in Parliament to abolish the three agro laws that have been the subject of farmer demonstrations over the past year.
Highlights:
♦Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in his speech to the country that the three farm laws will be repealed and that the constitutional process to do so will be finished in the Winter session of Parliament, which begins later this month.
♦According to former Union Law Secretary P K Malhotra, repealing a law is the same as passing a law under the Constitution. “To repeal the three laws, the administration will need to introduce legislation. There isn’t any other option “P D T Acharya, the former Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, remarked.
♦In response to a question, Acharya stated that the government may repeal all three laws with a single bill.
