Brookesia nana is a recently discovered chameleon from the island country of Madagascar.
Brookesia nana may be the smallest adult reptile in the world. The total length of the male head is 21.6 mm. The female head is slightly longer at 28.9 mm. Previously, the chameleon species Brookesia micra was considered the smallest. It is difficult to find more of these species, and their habitat is said to be threatened by deforestation.
