18 December 2021 Current Affairs:On the occasion of Bhutan’s National Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the country’s highest civilian award, the Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo.

Highlights:
♦Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering expressed his delight on social media after hearing His Majesty utter Prime Minister Modi’s name for the Kingdom of Bhutan’s highest civilian medal.
♦HM praised Modiji for his constant friendship and support over the years, notably during the pandemic. Definitely deserving! Bhutanese folks send their best wishes. I saw Your Excellency as a great, spiritual human being in all of our contacts. I’m looking forward to being able to accept the award in person.” Bhutan’s Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement on Facebook.
♦He also wished his fellow Bhutanese a happy 114th National Day, which honors His Majesty the First King of Bhutan, Druk Gyalpo Ugyen Wangchuck’s coronation on 1907, 17 December.
