The Atma Nirbhar Krishak development scheme for enhancing the agriculture sector has been approved by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet. 

Highlights:

From the current fiscal year onwards, the Atma Nirbhar Krishak development scheme will be implemented. 
In each development block, 1,475 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) will be developed during the following three years under this strategy.
The program will provide a long-term debt financing facility for feasible projects in postharvest infrastructure and community development.
Banks and financial institutions will lend Rs 1 lakh crore to Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, Marketing Cooperative Societies, Self Help Groups, farmers, and joint liability companies.
An interest subsidy of 3% per annum would be offered on all loans up to a ceiling of Rs 2 crore. The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund will be used to fund the project (AIF).
