01 October 2021 Current Affairs:Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched a Month-Long Clean India Programme in 
Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on 1 October.

Highlights:

♦ Mr Thakur launched the Clean India Programme from Prayagraj this afternoon as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. 
♦ The cleanliness drive aims to make awareness, mobilize people and ensure their involvement in cleaning waste mainly Single-Use Plastic waste throughout the country.
♦ This programme is being organised in six lakh villages of 744 districts across the country through the networks of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan-NYKS affiliated Youth Clubs and service Scheme-affiliated institutions.
♦ He also will lead a special cleanliness drive conducted at four places within the Sangam area. The places where a cleanliness drive is going to be conducted are- Ramp Road Sangam, Sangam Fort Nose, tract, and Deora Parishad.
♦ Later, Mr Thakur will attend Ganga Maha Aarti at Sangam and a seminar on Aatmanirbhar Bharat within the Mutthi Ganj area of the town.
