27 September 2021 Current Affairs:Indian Air Force (IAF) on 26 September mesmerised locals in Srinagar with the jets performing aerial acrobatics and manoeuvring in the skies.

Highlights:
♦ Many students from different schools in the Valley enjoyed the IAF jets skilfully navigating and synchronising while hovering over the famous Dal Lake.
♦ The show was named ‘Give Wings to Your Dream’ and inaugurated by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha 
♦ It was organised as a part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
♦ The show displayed IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team, Paramotor and powered hang-glider display, flypast by MiG-21 Bison, aerobatics by Su-30 Aircraft.
 ♦ It also incorporated the Akashganga skydiving display, IAF symphony orchestra display and a photo exhibition portraying the history of IAF.
♦ Dal Lake is in Srinagar, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It crosses 18 square kilometres.
♦ It is a part of a natural wetland that covers around 21 km, including floating gardens. It is a popular tourist destination recognized as the “Jewel in the crown of Kashmir”.
♦ IAF, the supreme air arm of the Indian Armed Forces, was founded in 1932. It is headquartered in New Delhi, called Vayu Bhawan. The slogan of IAF is ‘Glory that touches the sky.’
