The “Better Than Cash Alliance” between India and the United Nations organized a joint Peer learning exchange on FinTech solutions to achieve responsible digital payments at the last mile.
Highlights:
♦ Better Than Cash Alliance is defined as a partnership of governments, companies, and international organizations that aims to accelerate the transition from cash to digital payments to reduce poverty and promote inclusive growth, and advance sustainable development goals.
♦ The United Nations (UN) Capital Development Fund serves as the secretariat.
♦ India joined the “Better than Cash Alliance” in 2015 to digitize payments to achieve financial inclusion and share the success stories of Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana, the world’s largest financial inclusion program.
♦ The Better Than Cash Alliance is working with several state governments to achieve the goal of building knowledge and plans to enable people, governments and businesses to make digital payments.
